  • Cesc Fabregas has tipped Barcelona to win the Champions League this season, as the the 28-year-old midfielder hailed his former employers as the 'strongest team in the world' on Twitter.
Fabregas, who joined Arsenal from Barca's La Masia academy in 2003 and went on to make over 300 appearances for the north London outfit, returned to Catalonia eight years later in a £35million deal. Three successful seasons followed at Barca and yielded six trophies for Fabregas, but he came back to the Premier League with Chelsea last summer.
But it's obvious that the playmaker retains plenty of affection for the club he supported as a boy.

Barca currently lead Bayern Munich 3-0 on aggregate in the Champions League semi-final after a dominant first-leg display at the Nou Camp. The return leg will be played at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, though Fabregas doesn't think the chance of a comeback is likely.
'Possibility of Bayern in the second leg against Barca? No I don't think Bayern will get through,' he said.

Still, whoever the opposition, Fabregas is certain Barca can go all the way this year and heaped praise onto his former team-mate Lionel Messi.
'Messi is totally Barca. He loves and belongs at Barca. Barca is Leo and Leo is Barca, that you cannot doubt.'
He added: 'When people think Messi isn't there, he invents something. Leo has made Barca greater.'
